As a group, Evolve Hospitality, Enhance Catering and Collins King & Associates see charity work as an important part of our mission. It’s always been at the heart of our community, and we aim to meet suggestions with enthusiasm, when staff members put forward ideas for how we can leverage The Evolve Group community to do good.

Here are just a few of the ways we support the charities close to us:

Hospitality Action

Evolve Hospitality’s Managing Director, Ed Vokes, is an Ambassador for Hospitality Action, the charity offering vital assistance to all who work or have worked within hospitality in the UK. As part of this, our team is always ready to actively support Hospitality Action through a variety of fundraising activities including sponsored 10k runs, skydives and 100-mile cycle challenges.

Springboard

Managing Director for Collins King & Associates, Gary King is on the fundraising committee for Springboard, the charity future proofing the talent pipeline for hospitality and tourism. Gary offers his advisory knowledge, as well as getting involved in cycling challenges and most famously, performing in the charity Pantomime!

Alzheimer’s Society

Across the board, The Evolve Group are active supporters of the Alzheimer’s Society driven in a large part by Enhance Catering Managing Director, Clare Downes. In 2019 & 2020, Clare took part in the fundraising memory walk for her mom, inspiring many others across the Group to get involved in various fundraising activities for this well-deserving charity.

Adopt a School

Since 2018, The Evolve Group has supported the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts youth-focused charity, Adopt a School Trust. We’ve loved combining our deep knowledge of the hospitality industry with educating young people about its opportunities and benefits. Our team has visited numerous schools to teach young learners about hospitality, baking, front of house etiquette and nutrition.

In October, Collin Kings & Associates’ very own Ben Rice ran the London Marathon on behalf of Adopt a School, raising over £1200 to support the future work of the charity.

John King Brain Tumour Foundation

In February 2020, an intrepid team of five employees from The Evolve Group undertook a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, in aid of the John King Brain Tumour Foundation. It was surely the Group’s most physical and mental challenge to date. It also resulted in a record-breaking fundraising target for the charity, demonstrating the incredible value of the huge commitment made by the whole team.

The benefit of charity work

Whilst our charity activities support a multitude of good causes, we’re aware of the benefit to our own business. It helps bring team members together, including those who might not have cause to interact day to day; boosts the morale of staff through achieving something positive for a worthwhile cause; and brings additional meaning to an employee’s experience of work. We want to look beyond our own business goals to build a positive, happy and enthusiastic workplace environment.

Coming up…

This weekend, our fantastic team in Birmingham are running 5k to raise money for Movember, the leading charity changing the face of men’s health, across mental health; suicide prevention; prostate and testicular cancer.

If you’d like to support the team, any donations will be gratefully received here: https://bit.ly/TEGMovember22
